Who This Evening Is For
Â
For years, SlowFoodVastWine™ has gathered the Shenandoah Valley’s finest chefs, farmers, and vintners around one shared table, celebrating exceptional food, beautiful wine, and the land that sustains us all.
This evening is more than a tasting. It is a celebration of careful cultivation of soil, of craft, and of community.
The farmers and vintners we honor practice attentive stewardship of the land through sustainable and regenerative methods. At John XXIII Montessori Center, we practice that same attentiveness with children, respecting their natural development and nurturing them toward wholeness, confidence, and joy.
Both forms of stewardship ask the same thing: patience, humility, and trust in the goodness of what is growing.
SlowFoodVastWineâ„¢ exists to celebrate and support these shared values. Proceeds from the event directly support the Montessori formation of children at John XXIII, helping them grow in faith, curiosity, and responsibility for the world entrusted to them.
We invite you to join us for an evening of beauty, generosity, and purpose, and to take part in a work that bears fruit far beyond the table.
Our 2026 Venue: Reitano Vineyards
Nestled among the rolling hills of the Shenandoah Valley, Reitano Vineyards offers a setting of beauty, hospitality, and quiet intention. This family-owned vineyard provides a gracious backdrop for SlowFoodVastWine 2026, where fine wine, thoughtful stewardship, and joyful gathering come together in harmony.
Vault and Cellar: A Local Kitchen We Trust
This year’s SlowFoodVastWine experience is prepared by Vault and Cellar, a local kitchen known for thoughtful technique, seasonal ingredients, and care in every detail. Kari Rushing, the owner and executive chef, honors both the land and the people gathered around the table, making Vault and Cellar a natural partner for an evening rooted in stewardship and joy.
